SEMOLINA MILK PUDDING (SOOJIR PAYESH)

Hello Foodies,

Semolina Milk Pudding which is also known as Soojir payesh is a very delicious and tasty sweet dish which is easy to cook and easy to digest. This dessert is enjoyed by both kids and adults.

Preparation Time: 2 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 2 – 3 servings

Ingredients:

  • Semolina (Sooji) ~ ½ cup
  • Ghee (Clarified butter) ~ ½ tsp
  • Milk ~ 2 cups
  • Sugar ~ ¼ cups
  • Bay Leaf ~ 1
  • Cardamon ~ 1 or 2
  • Cashewnuts ~ 7 - 8
  • Raisins ~ 5 - 9

How to Prepare:

  • Heat a pan and add ghee to it.
  • Add bay leaf and then add sooji to the pan.
  • Stir continuously till it become light golden brown in color.
  • Add milk to it . Bring it to boil.
  • Finally add sugar and crushed cardamon.
  • Turn off the gas and serve the payesh in a serving bowl.
  • Garnish it with cashewnuts and raisins.
  • Serve hot.
