Rice Flour Pancake (Chilka)


Hello Foodies,
Rice flour pancake is one of the most simple dish and it consumes very less time to cook. It’s softness makes the dish more delicious.There are variety of dishes using rice, Rice flour pancake is one of them. There are different versions of Rice flour pancake recipe, here we are sharing one.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 - 45 minutes
Yield: 15 - 20 pancakes
Ingredients:
- Rice flour ~ 2 cups
- Wheat flour ~ 1 cup
- Semolina /rava /sooji ~ 3 cups
- Ginger paste ~ 1 tsp
- Spring onions(white) ~ 3
- Tomato ~ 1
- Green chilli ~ 2
- Red chilli powder ~ 1 tsp
- Pepper powder ~ ½ tsp
- Sugar ~ ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds ~ ½ tsp
- Black cumin seeds ~ ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil as per required
- Water as per required
- Chopped Coriander leaves ~ ½ cup
How to prepare:
- Chop the onions, tomato, green chillies and coriander leaves.
- In a bowl mix all the ingredients except oil. The batter should be neither thick nor too thin in consistency. You can adjust salt if required.
- Cover it and keep aside for 30-35 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick pan, brush a little oil to pan and then take a ladle full of batter and spread it all around the pan. Spread batter thin and brush the sides with little oil and put few drops of oil on the top of the batter and cover it with a lid.
- Cook for 20 secs till it become light golden brown in color then flip the pancake in to the other side and cover it with the lid. Prick the fork to see whether the pancake is cooked or not.
- Repeat the steps for rest of the batter.
- Serve hot with tomato sauce or any chutney.
